A certified translation is a translation of a document to be used in legal proceedings, by an authority, notary public or for official purposes. The certification of the translation means that its accuracy and completeness is certified with a note and a personal stamp. The certification only concerns the translation, not the original document as such!

Prices & Order Management

All my offers are non-binding and free of charge.

The price for a translation depends on a range of factors. Normally, the price is set as a word price pro word based on the source text but the price for patent translations is often based on the target text. The word price depends on the complexity of the text, subject, research time, already existent reference texts, information about terminology and localisation and the deadline for the translation. Upon request I can also give a fixed inclusive rate.

For small translations I charge a minimum fee responding 30 minutes of work (including administration).

The costs for certified translations depend on several factors. As a guideline, the Judicial Remuneration and Compensation Act (JVEG) can be used. It should be noted that in Germany, Swedish is considered a rare foreign language.

According to the JVEG, the price per line (1 line = 55 characters including spaces) for translation ranges from 1.95 to 2.10 euros, and an hourly rate of 85 euros is specified. The certification of individual documents is charged at a flat rate of between 20 and 30 euros, depending on the number of documents. Additional costs for postal and telecommunications services, layout work, etc., mayapply.

My non-binding and free offer always state the total price.

I charge my interpreting services per hour or per day. Please specify in your inquiry if my offer should include travel costs and cost for accommodation and food or if you want med to specify these costs separately.

ith smaller translations there is normally no need for feedback during the work, unless I or the customer have questions or other issues to discuss. During larger jobs I communicate with the customer and inform about the work progress, consult concerning terminology and other issues.

The agreed delivery date is binding for me. If unforeseen circumstances may delay the delivery, I would immediately inform the customer.

Yes, I work with Trados Studio 2017 and 2022, Across v.8 and memoQ. I also use different customer intern tools.

For terminology management I primarily use MultiTerm, but also other commons systems or intern tools.

In principle, I can use all kinds of file formats for a translation. However, the text should be available in an editable format (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, .html etc.) Where relevant I can convert PDF-files and other non-editable formats and prepare them before the actual translation. This work is an extra service and I charge the time needed.

You can for example send large files via tools like WeTransfer. If needed, you can transfer confidential or sensitive texts via servers with password protection.
